At the physician's office, the physician or office worker assigns a patient a LOGIN and PASSWORD for which they will access their MyMedtopia account. The physician's Medtopia application automatically chooses these for you once the request is made. (Eventually the patient will select his or her own password, while the login remains the same.)

The office worker or physician then prints out the patient's login and password and gives it to the patient.

At home, the patient logs in to their MyMedtopia account by visiting www.medtopia.com and choosing the PATIENT LOGIN button. (In some cases the patient may login via the physician's professional website.) The patients will first be asked to create a new password of their own to use for future visits to their MyMedtopia account.

The application is simple to use on both the patient and physician's part, and the results are better-informed patients, and an improvement in patient-physician communication.
